I also seem to remember not really being to enthralled with the romance aspect of the novel, but really loving how Devan and her mum interacted. I also loved Spaldings approach on family dynamics.

Great review! ~Sara @ Just Another Storyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07870692977272702662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11403564.post-21157945604473665782015-01-07T23:56:03.756-05:002015-01-07T23:56:03.756-05:00It's surprising how much an emotional connecti...It's surprising how much an emotional connection can effect your enjoyment of a novel! Devin sounds easy to relate to but that romance... I'm not sure how I'd feel about it.Bec @ Readers in Wonderlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12992863145769848645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11403564.post-44887224563787593402015-01-06T23:53:03.730-05:002015-01-06T23:53:03.730-05:00Hee, yeah I think I could probably relate to Devan...Hee, yeah I think I could probably relate to Devan :) And I got to appreciate a book that puts a focus on the family dynamics! What a shame about the romance though.Ayleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07639250102446794830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11403564.post-55677329084617776812015-01-06T14:31:00.645-05:002015-01-06T14:31:00.645-05:00I adore books that focus on families so I think th...I adore books that focus on families so I think that aspect of this would be quite fabulous, but I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by the romance. If there are two couples at the center, then I want to care equally for both.
But overall, it sounds like a lovely read.Maja (The Nocturnal Library)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14276646316400863181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11403564.post-83669522016034299392015-01-05T14:30:44.134-05:002015-01-05T14:30:44.134-05:00"I think most of us book bloggers tend to be ..."I think most of us book bloggers tend to be on the nerdy and more socially awkward side" LOL, so true! It's no wonder why so must of us click with the characters that have the same idiosyncrasies. I do like the emphasis on family dynamics though the romance was a bit of a let down. It's too bad you weren't as emotionally involved overall as you wanted to be though, and I know I'll want more from the romance:) Still sounds like a solid enough read!Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14199685365145765394noreply@blogger.com
