Top 10 Books I've Read in 2014

With the end of 2014, I'm going to take a look back at the top ten books that I've read this year. Here's my list (in no particular order):

  2. Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers [my review]
  3. This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner [my review]
  4. Beware the Wild by Natalie C. Parker [my review]
  5. The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey [my review]
  6. The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls by Claire Legrand [my review]
  7. Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor [my review]
  8. Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens [my review]
  9. Cress by Marissa Meyer [my review]
  10. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson [my review]

  1. I really need to get to Megan Whalen Turner's books, everyone seems to love them. And heck yes, the His Fair Assassin Trilogy. Also really enjoyed Faking Normal and Dreams of Gods & Monsters. I still need to get to Cress but I'm excited to!

  2. Oh you know, I've actually only read two of these books so I best get on the rest! Most of them are all on my tbr already, but it's good to have this as a reminder that I should perhaps be prioritizing these ones.

  3. Ah! I've read The Thief --> The King of Attolia, but have been putting off A Conspiracy of Kings b/c once it's over....it's OVER! I actually think it might be good not to have read it for so long b/c then Sophos won't be overpowered by my intense love of Eugenides.

Anywho, great list. I'm adding books to my TBR as we speak. I was surprised how much I liked Faking Normal considering I usually don't like issue-driven contemporaries, but I bawled in that one.

    Happy New Year! :)

  4. I need to return to the Whalen books! I really enjoyed the first one but haven't read the others yet. I had a really bad year in 2014with sequels/series enders that I was afraid to pick up Dreams of Gods and Monsters. I will pick it up for this year.

  5. I've read and enjoyed most of these, but A Conspiracy of Kings, and the entire series, actually, is something I tend to reread whenever I'm feeling down. It's perfection.
