Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme held by Jill at Breaking the Spine to feature upcoming books that we can't wait to get our hands on.
Author: Chloe Jacobs
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Date of Release: November 13, 2012
Goodreads Description: While trying to save
her brother from the witch three years ago, Greta was thrown into the
fire herself, falling through a portal to a dangerous world where humans
are the enemy, and every ogre, goblin, and ghoul has a dark side that
comes out with the full moon. To survive, 17-year-old Greta has hidden
her humanity and taken the job of bounty hunter - and she’s good at what
she does. So good, she’s caught the attention of Mylena’s young Goblin
King, the darkly enticing Isaac, who invades her dreams and undermines
her determination to escape. But Greta’s not the only one looking to get
out of Mylena. The full moon is mere days away, and an ancient evil
being knows she’s the key to opening the portal. If Greta fails, she and
the boys she finds stranded in the woods will die. If she succeeds, no
world will be safe from what follows her back ...
Why am I waiting? First off, the author is a Canadian which I think is reason enough to read it :) Other reasons though include: a) there are ogres, goblins and ghouls, b) the Goblin King sounds hot - I'm shallow, I know! - and c) rather than humans doing the hunting, it seems like we are the hunted. I just hope Greta acts like a bounty hunter and doesn't disappoint me like Celaena from Throne of Glass.

Excellent, I always love it when I find something completely new to read in a WoW post and this is the first I've heard of this one. Who knew a Goblin King could be hot? I guess it doesn't mean he is necessarily a goblin himself though, haha.
ReplyDeleteLol, I thought that too :)
DeleteI'm not fond of the cover but this has caught attention long ago. I'm excited to read about the ghouls and goblins too! And yes, the goblin king does sound hot!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick. I'm really looking forward to this one too, and I love the cover :)
ReplyDeleteYES! Found this one a little while ago and I'm so excited about it!
ReplyDeleteMy WoW
The goblin king does sound hot Z- that's enough to make me want to read this one too! Plus he's a goblin king. I can't say I've read too many books that feature a goblin king and I want to meet Isaac immediately!
ReplyDeleteHaha! The goblin king does sound pretty hot. ;) That's usually enough to persuade me to pick up a book sometimes. :D Great pick!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike. This is my WoW today too. :)
ReplyDeleteDying for this book! I cannot wait!

I do hope Greta is a bit more kick-ass than Celaena as well, ha! The Goblin King sounds intruiging and the overall premise is wonderful. Great pick and thanks for sharing, dear. :)
